Passive Exposure Drug Testing For Child Welfare
Protective Services
|
|
The ChildGuard™
passive exposure drug test provides a new
information window into a child's environment. A
positive result serves as a red flag that something
is wrong. The ChildGuard™ passive exposure
drug test represents a significant advance in
information gathering for child abuse investigations
and other child welfare applications. Appropriate
information can assist in determining appropriate
responses.
|
ChildGuard™ testing is non-invasive: a small sample of
the child's hair is snipped then sent to our lab for testing. Once here, we perform a five panel drug screen and confirmatory analysis which can indicate the presence of:
- Amphetamine (methamphetamine)
- Cannabinoids (THC/marijuana)
- Cocaine (crack & cocaine HCI)
- Opiates (heroin)
- Phencyclidine (PCP)
Results are then forwarded to the requesting agency. |
|
| ChildGuard™ places the investigative emphasis on the child's environment, and not on personal drug abuse, by modifying conventional hair testing procedures and restricting testing age. |
|
|
A positive ChildGuard™ result indicates that
the child has experienced one or more of the following:
- Passive inhalation of drug smoke;
- Contact with drug smoke;
- Contact with sweat or sebum (skin oil) of a drug
user;
- Contact with the physical drug substance; or
- Accidental or intentional ingestion of illegal
drugs.
